Quarterly Quote:
"The inventions of the unknown demand new forms."
-- Arthur Rimbaud
The Shwibly, a free-form, expansively lit(erary) magazine or webzine, emerged in the Summer of 2008 from bonds and friendships between three writers and educators--two of whom are married to one another and another who is not married to anything but art. The Shwibly presents a vivid, at times disturbed, at other times (we like to think) hilarious collection of short fiction, short non-fiction, poetry, strange news, political satire and commentary on pop-culture, among other forms of the written word/weird.
The Shwibly appears on a quarterly basis.
This is not merely a magazine, but the product of necessity, willed into being in seasonal spurts. Shwibly is additionally a lifestyle, an epistemology and an alternative to total, nihilistic despair (barely--but what do you want for free?)
It is in the nature of Shwibly that several of our featured topics will change each quarter--there is nothing wrong with your computer. (Actually, there may be something additionally wrong with your computer, just don't blame The Shwibly.)
Although The Shwibly's writers and creators have written and been published elsewhere, those publications have not necessarily reflected what we consider to be our best, most creative, or most innovative work. Hence this site, studded with gems of original genius (so breathtaking in their multi-faceted glory).
